11 Years….
Tuesday was my eleven year anniversary of being clean and sober. Even though this is still a very big deal for me, I probably don’t think about it enough any more. I remember how big of a deal my first year celebration was. I started thinking about it six months in advance. Now, I start to think about it a couple days ahead of time. But, even so, I am so grateful for the life I have today, and I owe it all to God, AA and all the friends I have had over the last decade who have helped me to find my new path and my new life. Twelve years ago I was smoking crack just about every night and had no hope of a happy and productive life. I lived to use drugs. Now, I have a lovely and loving wife, a beautiful home, two cats and a dog, my brother & mother & niece, and a decent job.
Life is sweet.
Congratulations! That’s really an awesome accomplishment, and I’m so glad you’ve been blessed so richly in return.
*hug*
