Yucca
Our fearful leader, CEO Bush, signed off on the Yucca Mountain plan to store nuclear waste. It figures that a “president” as unethical and short-sighted as Bush would pick a site that’s on a fault line and that is on Native American holy ground.
You know what really irks me off? The fact that no major news organization even mentions anything about our government using Indian lands and the moral and legal questions surrounding it. Yucca Mountain is on land guaranteed to the Western Shoshone people by treaty. Of course, that didn’t stop our government from conducting nuclear bomb tests on their land before, either, but you would think that at some time or another we would stop fucking these people over and honor our own agreements. And this is not even worthy of our news. Being the self-centered nation that we are, we are only concerned about the nuclear waste being transported through our backyard. We don’t give a shit about dumping it in someone else’s yard, especially when their skin color is different from our own.
Those Injuns are just savages anyway, right?
I’ll stop now before I really get fired up…..
I agree 100% and it makes me very angry. No one could stop the government though. No one really can, can they?
